Help! I need somebody....Not just anybody....

Is anyone else a Beatles fan?  My husband went through a Beatles phase this summer, and we are still listening to the White Album on repeat.

Anyways, I'm here today asking you for some help.

I will be hosting a 100+ follower giveaway shortly and am asking for donations.

If you are willing to donate, please click on the graphic below.  It will take you to my fancy-dancy Google Forms Questionnaire where you will be able to donate!

If the picture link doesn't work, try here!

This is my first giveaway, and I am excited to learn something new
aka I have no idea what I am doing.

Reading Centers Update: Last week I revamped my reading centers.  You can kind of read about it here.  Since it was only a 3 day week, I went over the procedures, expectations, and ironed out all of the kinks.  We simply "practiced" the centers, meaning we didn't actually write anything down with pen, pencil, stamps, or markers.  We just used our fingers and pretended to do our work.  We were really focusing on tight transitions.  You know, the getting started and cleaning up quickly.

Today was the big day.  We got to do our new reading centers FOR REAL!  (I had several students asking me repeatedly "For real this time?" Too cute!)

I am happy to say that after one day, I am crossing my fingers that it works tomorrow well pleased.

I was able to pull 3 small groups (my goal!) AND my students were actively engaged in the reading process.
All of them.
We love reading and writing and working with our partners.
We are kind.  We share.  We work the whole time.
The whole kit and kabootle.
It was a fabulous accomplishment and rainbows and butterflies were flying out the my classroom.

It doesn't matter that I found a half-finished, wadded-up Word Work paper in the trash can that was erased completely.  This student was obviously trying to get out of working during Fun Friday.  Can you believe that this student erased their entire center work during CLEAN UP TIME, threw it away, and I didn't even notice? "If I just throw it away, it's pretty much the same as me finishing it, right Miss Frizz?"  Can you say SNEA-KY? (Don't worry, I dug it lifted it from the top pile of the trash can and am saving it for Fun Friday...)

I am happy to share what we have been doing, but I forgot to take pictures of the action today!  Let's cross our fingers that I remember tomorrow.

One last shameless plug: Click here, here, here, or here to donate to my giveaway!

Cheers :)

  1. Ahh! I'm so glad to know I'm not the only teacher who sneaky-ly saves their students' unfinished work for them to complete during fun times.

  2. Congrats on reaching 100 followers! Love that you saved that student's work! Won't he be surprised!

  3. Congrats on 100 followers and on your successful centers. I love it when things flow smoothly and everyone is engaged.

  4. Yeah for 100+ followers! I have found an erased paper before too! Wish I would have saved it for a fun time!!
